The German Christmas Market in Santa Croce

The German Christmas Market in Santa Croce by Chi-Thanh Lam Nguyen

The annual Heidelberg market brings a taste a German Christmas to the city; until the 20th December, 40 wooden stands will fill Piazza Santa Croce offering all types of German delicates.

The little wooden huts in Piazza Santa Croce will be brimming with Frankfurters, mulled wine, Christmas tree decorations, felt angels, magic globes containing elves and sleights ready to welcome Christmas.

Additional events and shows dedicated to the little ones will fill the air with the magic and charm of the festive season. And just a few kilometers away, another Christmas market, “Florence Noel” will recreate the sweetest, homiest atmosphere in a rather unexpected location.

Until December 13th, the home of the old Florence railway is transformed into an ideal home for Santa Clause, an event which has become very popular among the city’s children in recent years. Decorations, chocolate, the scent of spice convey the festival. Picking up gifts and souvenirs for family and friends at home will make it for a memorable Christmas.
