Glances in Middle America, Photogrpahy Exhibit at the SACI Gallery
The SACI Gallery is presenting Glances in Middle America, a photography exhibition by Italian artist and SACI photography instructor Jacopo Santini and American artist, SACI alumnus, and former SACI teaching assistant Nicholas Wynia.
The exhibit will be on display from March 10th to 24th. The SACI Gallery is located in Via Sant’Antonino 11.
Jacopo Santini has a Laurea in Law, University of Florence. From 1999 through 2001, was in charge of photographic documentation of restoration work conducted under the auspices of the Soprintendenza Archeologica della Toscana Centro di Restauro. From 2000 to 2004, he taught photography at La Cantoria in Grassina, Italy. A member of the SACI faculty since 2004, he is also a professor of photography at CEA (Cultural Experiences Abroad) in Florence. His work has been featured in a number of solo and group exhibitions in Florence and elsewhere in Tuscany. He is known for his outstanding photo project on L'Albergo Popolare, a shelter for the homeless in the San Frediano district of Florence. At present, he is involved in a project with the University of Evora, an ancient town in Portugal.
Nicholas Wynia is a freelance photographer who lives in Iowa City. His work has been exhibited in Europe, Latin America, and the United States. In 2007-08, he was a Fulbright Scholar in Perů.
